1955
Sendai Propane Gas Co. (SPGC), the predecessor of present KOAGAS NIHON Co. was founded at Satsuma-Sendai, Kagoshima.

1956
Blow-bypass type LP Gas cylinder filling process was developed and commercialized by SPGC.

1957
Development and introduction of the customers-call-on type meter sales system.

1959
Opening of sales office in Kagoshima city, started direct sales mainly within Kagoshima city.

1960
Construction of new factory with LP Gas cylinder filling station and container-inspection center in the site of the present KOAGAS NIHON head office.

1964
Relocation of head office to Kagoshima city.

1966
Establishment of South Japan Gas Co. as a 100% subsidiary to supply town-gas in Satsuma-Sendai city areas.

1970
Change of the company name to “KOAGAS Kagoshima Co.”.

1973
Start of “Bulk sales” of LP Gas in Kagoshima for the first time.

1974
Koa Auto Gas Co. was founded in line with the expansion of auto-gas sales.

1975
Start of supply of community gas to a housing complex at Satsuma-Sendai city.

1979
Start of supply of community gas to the Hoshigamine New Town housing complex in Kagoshima city.

1981
Taki Transport Co. was founded as a 100% subsidiary transportation unit.

1984
MK 13A Propane-air Gas Manufacturing Process was developed and constructed at Sendai Factory.

1988
License of the technology of MK 13A Propane-Air Gas Manufacturing process to Hitachi group in Japan, etc.

1992
Receiving of “The Grand Prix of Technology” from Japan Gas Association (JGA) for the development and commercialization of MK 13A Propane-Air Gas Manufacturing Process.

1993
The delegation of Chang Sha Gas Co. in China called on KOAGAS Kagoshima Co. for the exchange of mutual friendship.
The presentation of KOAGAS NIHON Co.’s proprietary technologies was made at the Annual Conference of the Editorial Committee for the Town Gas in China.

1994
License of the technology of MK 13A Propane-air Gas Manufacturing Process to Shanghai Gas Co. in China.

1995
Kokubu Factory of South Japan Gas Co. started the supply of town gas made by MK 13A Propane-Air Gas Manufacturing Plant (the second plant in South Japan Gas Co).

1996
Became a member of National Propane Gas Association (NPGA) in Washington, D.C. the U.S.A.
Received “The Grand Prix of Invention” for the invention and commercialization of “Blow By-Pass Type of LP Gas Cylinder Filling Process” from Japan Invitation Association.

1997
US Office was opened.

2000
Receiving of “The Grand Prix” from the president of the chamber and commerce of Kagoshima prefecture in the exhibition of invention of Kagoshima prefecture for the invention of Air-heated/hot-water dual type vaporizer process.
Start of the supply of community gas to both Aobadai and New Town Jiganji housing complexes.

2001
Company name changed to present “KOAGAS NIHON Co.” .
Newly-developed air-heated/hot-water dual type vaporizer was installed to the MK-13A Propane-air Town Gas Manufacturing Plant of its Satsuma-Sendai Factory.

2002
MK Bobtail, new generation type bobtail carrying a mini blow-propane recovery unit was developed by KOAGAS NIHON Group and the prototype one was deployed to its bulk lorry fleet.

2003
Technical presentation of MK 13A Propane-air gas manufacturing process was made at the Technical session in the 16th WLPGA Forum held in Chile in October, 2003.

2004
Reception of “The Award of the Minister of Education, Science and Culture” for the development and commercialization of MK 13A Propane-Air Gas Manufacturing Process.
Joining in World LP Gas Association (WLPGA).
Receiving of “The Grand Prix” for the invention of method and equipment for transporting LPG in a tank truck from the president of the commerce in the exhibition of invention of Kagoshima prefecture.

2005
The celebration of the fifty-year anniversary.
USA office was relocated to Manhattan, New York.
Obtaining a US patent with a patent name of “HIGH-SPEED BULK FILLING TANK TRUCK”.

2006
Obtaining of EU (BK, France, Italy) and Hong Kong patents with a patent name of “HIGH-SPEED BULK FILLING TANK TRUCK”.
Opening of “KOA-KAN”, Hall for Exhibition, Amusement and Community.
Receiving of the prize from the president of Kyushu Industrial Technical Center.

2007
Start of supply of community gas to Saigo housing complex in Kagoshima city.
Participation to the 57th NPGA International Expo held in Atlanta, Georgia USA.

2008
Conclusion of the contract with ULTRAGAZ in Brazil for technical cooperation.
Start of “reform business” .

2009
Start of “new energy business” including photovoltaic, fuel cell etc.

2010
Initiatives named “Go and Go” campaign in memory of the fifty five anniversary.
Visit of Ultragaz staff.

2011
Relocation of KOAKAN.

2012
Mr. Kamikozuru who had led the group since the foundation of Sendai Propane Gas Co. died.
Start of the new organizational structure.

2013
An executive director of the World LP Gas Association (WLPGA) called on the company and a lecture of “The Role of LP Gas in a New Age of Energy” was held.
KOAGAS NIHON CEO, Mr.Mayumi Uezono, made a speech titled “A Challenge for Sustainable Growth” at the 26th World LP Gas Forum held in London, England in October,2013.

2014
Mr.Mayumi Uezono, CEO of Koagas Nihon, made a statement about his opinions at the Gas System Committee.
Mr. Uezono had an interview with Mr. Kelly, Senior Director of the World LP Gas Society, to discuss the “The future and Challenges of the World and Japan”.
The Kokubu Branch was approved as “one of LP Gas Filling tation at the time of the disaster’s occurrence “by the Ministry of Economy of Trade and Industry.

2015
Celebration for the fiftieth anniversary of company foundation was held.
The total number of customers of Koagas Group eached 70.000.
A service station in Izumi-city was launched.

2016
Retailing electricity with trade name of “Koagas denki (electricity) started.

2018
Retailing electricity with trade name of “Kurashi-no-otasuke-service started.
